Physical activity can decrease depression as effectively as Prozac or behavioral therapy

EIM month - October 2017

  • Students received daily informative emails from these top campus wellness professionals with tips on how to live a healthy and active life at Rutgers University for 21 days.

  • The goal was to turn health into a habit by incorporating the healthy lifestyle tips and logging daily intentional physical activity minutes in an interactive app to achieve the goal of 150-minutes each week.

  • Rutgers Students/Faculty/and Staff went above and beyond with their activity!! In the 2017 Campaign, 792 Rutgers affiliates logged a total of 144,283 minutes within the 3-week program, 90% of participants being Rutgers students! 

  • An event providing students with the opportunity to participate in adaptive sports such as wheelchair basketball, beep ball and seated volleyball.

  • A 3.5 mile trail run with obstacles

  • 794 students broke  the Guinness World record of the most people performing bodybuilding pose simultaneously
